    Dr. Keith Stepter certified strength and conditioning specialist, doctor of physical therapy, licensed physical therapist, and certified with the Clinical Management of Fitness Athletes. Dr. Stepter is the co-founder of The Virtual Strength Coach, LLC. Dr. Stepter's playing experience comes from two years of Junior College Baseball at ICC (Itawamba Community College) and two years of D1 baseball at The University of Memphis.

    It is very well known that strength training is highly effective for increasing pitching velocity. However, it was unknown how limiting access to strength training affected pitching.

    This study takes a look at collegiate pitchers completing an 8-week throwing program in the fall without structured strength & conditioning. All-in-all this article gives us some proof of what we already know... baseball players need the weight room.
